Barboursville, Ky., Aug. 6. - Jack Williams was lynched by a mob of outraged and indignant men near Bush Creek last night. He and his brother, Tom Williams, were accused of outracing a deaf-mute girl names Viney Bays, and the mob went after them.
They caught Jack and swung him to a limb. Tom escaped lynching by marrying the girl in Tennessee. He was brought here and is in jail here now, being held under $200 bond to answer a charge of criminal assault.
The assault occurred three weeks ago. Williams has an examining trial and gave bond, but about ten days ago married the girl.
They were found yesterday in Log Mountain, near the Tennessee line. The girl was in a serious condition.
