Clarksville, Tenn., Fe. 22--The highly sensational trial of William Proctor, F. P. Apgar, Moses Cook, Jr. and Robert Henderson for the lynching of Edwin Traughber at Adairville, Ky., last July, has just ended at Russellville, 33 miles from here in Southern Kentucky, the jury failing, after being out 14 hours, to agree on a verdict, seven being for hanging and the others were divided between wanting the men imprisoned for life and set free. Never before in the history of this section has as much interest been taken in a trial as in this one.
Since the jury failed to find a verdict the four men appear more despondent than before. All have asked for bond, but as yet the Judge has not signified his willingness to grant it to them. The men have now been in jail since last August.Source
