Enclosed you will find important clippings relative to the Versailles lynching. You will note that the Governor has refused to reinstate the Jailer of Versailles. I think this article a very important one as it shown the attitude of out Governor to ferret out the criminals.
I have made some private investigations through personal friends who live near the scene of the lynching. It is rumored that some of the [most?] prominent people in Versailles were members of the mob. It is hinted [that the ? ] were members of the mob.
