Lynching Town Boycotted By State Medical Society
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, 70 Fifth Avenue, today announced receipt of news that the State Medical Society of Kentucky had voted to call off a meeting which it had been planned to hold in Versailles, Kentucky.
Versailles is the scene of the lynching of Richard James on March 13, as a result of which Governor Morrow removed the jailor [sic] who permitted the mob to take its victim from his custody.
The change in the State Meeting of Kentucky’s medical society is a direct consequence of the lynching, according to the president of the society.
