A HARMLESS NEGRO SHOT BY UNKNOWN MEN.

Fulton Council Offers Reward of $200 For the Conviction of the Guilty Persons.

Fulton, Ky., Feb. 15. - [Special.] - Bill Dooley, a harmless negro, was dragged from his house last night by three men and shot. The murder took place at 11 o’clock. Special Officer Potts had visited Dooley’s house about 7 o’clock last night in search of a negro named Moore, who had a fight with Potts early in the evening. Potts asked Dooley if he knew where Moore was. Dooley replied that he did not. Potts then cursed and abused Dooley and Dooley finally told Potts he was going to report him to the Mayor for abusing him. Potts then struck Dooley and told him if he would come out in the yard he would kill him. Potts then went back to town.

The City Council met to-night and offered $200 for the arrest and conviction of the guilty persons. Potts has been suspended from the police force pending an investigation.
