Description
STABLE BURNED
At the Winchester Fair Grounds Last Night By Incendiaries.
A gentleman from Winchester this morning informs THE LEADER that the stable of John T. Jones, located at the fair grounds, near that place, was burned to the ground last night. The loss will approximate $2,000. The horses in the building were removed without injury. It is claimed that the stable was set on fire by some Negroes in retaliation upon Mr. Jones, who they think was the leader of the mob which hanged Haggard some weeks ago. The authorities have a clue to the parties who committed the incendiarism and arrests are likely to follow soon.
