JUDGE WAS IMPLICATED
HARLAND, Ky., April 19 – Police Judge C. P. Stivers, slain at Manchester Saturday, was implicated in the sensational “Bath House slaying” at Lynch, Ky., in 1921 in which three men were shot to death.
C. P. Stivers; his brother, James Stivers, John Burchell and Ted Marcum were jointly indicted in connection with the shooting, and later were acquitted.
One of the slain men was an employe of the Lynch mines and the other two were deputy constables.
